HOW TO EARN ON DIGITIZE INDIA PLATFORM

HOW TO EARN ON DIGITIZE INDIA PLATFORM

Digitize India Platform (DIP) is an initiative of the Government of India under the Digital India Programme to provide digitization services for scanned document images or physical documents for any organization. The aim is to digitize and make usable all the existing content in different formats and media, languages, digitize and create data extracts for document management, IT applications and records management.
DIP provides an innovative solution by combining machine intelligence and a cost effective crowd sourcing model. It features a secure and automated platform for processing and extracting relevant data from document images in a format that is usable for meta-data tagging, IT application processing and analysis.
Digitize India Platform (DIP) offers an opportunity for government agencies to transform themselves into digital enterprises and for Digital Contributors, rewards for doing simple data entry jobs. It is intended to leverage DIP to lead all organizations towards a paperless office, make data available on demand to the citizens, free archived documents storage spaces and enhance digital public service delivery.
The platform was launched on July 1, 2015 as part of the Digital India programme.

Stakeholders

  1. Digital Contributors
Any Indian citizen with an Aadhaar Number can become a Digital Contributor (DC) and perform simple data entry tasks on the DIP. For every verified and correct task performed, the Contributor will earn reward points. They can redeem the reward points into monetary value or donate them to the Digital India initiative.
  2. User Organizations
Government departments, Public Sector Organization and Autonomous bodies can become an user organization and utilize Digitization Service provided by DIP. A user Organization can submit their records for digitization to platform operator. The records should preferably be in a scanned image format. However, organizations who wish to submit physical records will have to pay for scanning separately.
  3. Platform operator (Common Service Centre SPV)
The platform operator will help in the onboarding of user organization, pre-processing the scanned document images, creating templates for pages being digitized and delivering the digitized data to the user organization. Platform operator will remunerate the Digital Contributors for their earned reward points.

Benefits

  1. Government Agencies
Digitized data extracts generated by DIP will help organizations to:
    • Index document images by using the data extracts as meta-data tags
    • Manage, retrieve and access document images more efficiently through keyword based search
    • Use the data extract as automated data inputs in IT applications avoiding manual data entry
    • Safeguard against physical disasters by replicating the data across different media and locations

FAQs

1. For Digital Contributors
  • What qualifications do I need to become a Digital Contributor?
There is no lower or upper limit of qualification level to become a Digital Contributor. You need to be literate (read & type) in the language you choose for your data entry tasks.
  • How much will I earn by becoming a Digital Champion?
Your earning is calculated based on the number of correct words you type. You will be assigned one reward point for every character in the correct words. You can redeem every reward point for 2 paisa.
  • How many hours can I work in a day?
There is no limit on the number of hours you can work in a day. You can work anytime from anywhere as long as the tasks are available in your selected language, you have a computing device (like a desktop or laptop, tablet or smart mobile phone) and an internet connection.
2. For Agencies
  • What type of documents can I digitize using DIP?
You can digitize any document image that is human readable and has a defined structure like a printed form or a register with defined rows & columns. However it is suggested that you digitize only those documents which are generated in high volume, have a similar document structure and need frequent access.

  • What type of data can I extract from the documents?
DIP can process and extract multi-lingual text, numeric and alphanumeric data from the document images.
  • How does DIP ensure the Data quality and accuracy?
DIP uses multiple levels of quality checks for verification and validation of the data. It uses image validation technique to ensure that only similar types of documents are processed in a batch. It uses pre-defined field level validations to ensure correct data type entered by the crowd workforce and multi-level data value comparisons through a maker-checker process for data accuracy and quality check. Human validation is used for data fields that fail the automated quality checks. In future DIP will be using pre-defined data dictionaries and machine learning algorithms for higher levels of data accuracy and quality.
  • How does DIP ensure Data privacy and security?
    • DIP is hosted on NIC's secure cloud infrastructure "Meghraj" that provides restricted access only to authorized personnel.
    • The data transmission from the cloud to the crowd is secured through industry standard encryption algorithms and protocols like SSL and HTTPS.
    • The data from the documents is distributed to the crowd in fragments through a randomization algorithm that ensures that no individual gets more than a fixed number of randomly assigned fields making it difficult to identify the type of the data or the document.
    • The data extracts generated for an organization can be accessed only by authorized personnel of the organization with system assigned ids and passwords.
    • The identity and authentication of the crowd agents is done through Aadhar number using the UIDAI database and every crowd agent is assigned a unique user id and password.
    • The system maintains an audit log of all the transactions including login details, locations, machine id etc. and will soon have a fraud engine to monitor suspicious transactions.
  • How do I get started on DIP?
    • Identify the documents you need to digitize.
    • Verify their format to check that they are similar
    • Estimate the volume of documents you need to digitize
    • Verify the image quality to check that they are human readable
    • Identify the data fields per document you need to extract
    • Register as a department on the Digitize India portal or mail the information to support.dip[at]gov.in, helpdesk[at]csclive.in@

10 simple ways to strengthen relations

1. Be more conscious of your friendships

Sometimes we are so busy with life and family that we forget that we have friends. We need to be aware that the friends in our lives won’t be there forever. Although they may be “just” a neighbor or classmate today, it doesn’t mean they will be tomorrow. Be aware that the people you spend time with as friends is the first step in building stronger relationships.

2. Don’t take friendships for granted

Don’t forget that friendship is a choice, not an obligation. If you don’t value your friendships, they’ll eventually disappear.

In today’s hectic world, we are constantly on the go. If we ignore our friendships, they drift away until one day we wonder what happened to the people who were so important in our lives.

3. See how you can help a friend in trouble.

There’s no better time to be a great friend than in times of hardship and trouble.

You don’t have to solve the problem but you can be a shoulder to lean on, someone to share a meal with or help with an errand.

Often, friends who are experiencing hardship don’t reach out for fear of imposing on others. I was fortunate that many of my friends made the effort to reach out to me and ask how they could help.

4. Find ways to make their lives better

You don’t have to reach out to friends only during times of hardship. Find ways to add value to their lives. If they’re busy with a project and could use some babysitting time, offer to help. If they work long hours, drop off or pick up their children, run errands or surprise them with a home-cooked meal.

Find ways to help your friends and they will be truly grateful but even more appreciative of your thoughtfulness.

5. Spend time with friends

This may seem like a no-brainer but when was the last time you spent some quality time with your friends?

Again, this goes backs to taking friendships for granted in our lives.

Understandably, the demands of work or family consume most our time. Our daily lives may be an endless to-do list but it is always possible to set time aside for friends. Block off time or day of the week for friend time!

6. Communicate with them regularly

In addition to not allocating enough time to spend with friends, lack of communication also affects your friendships.

In a world where technology makes it so easy to communicate, reaching out to a friend nowadays requires only a quick text message, brief email, phone call or visit.

Be proactive in keeping in touch even it’s just to say hello and see how they’re doing.

7. Encourage their dreams.

When friends are lost, confused or seek your advice, listen and help guide them. Many people in life are quick to shoot down someone’s dream or passion, but without goals or dreams our lives become a meaningless existence.

Share your passion to inspire others and see what a difference it makes to your life and theirs. If you’re seeking to strengthen a friendship, try to provide valuable and constructive advice.

Even if you think your friend’s ideas are a little out there, help them navigate the pros and cons of their dream without shooting it down.

8. Make friendship a priority

We spend time on the relationships that matter to us. Never having enough time is not an excuse. When you say you don’t have enough time, what it really means is that you don’t have enough time for friendship.

We are burdened with often too much in our lives but if friendship is important to you, make it a priority. When you make friendship a priority, you empower yourself to say no to other less important things in your life and elevate the value of friends in your life. Always remember that jobs, issues and problems come and go. It’s always friendships that transcend the routine of daily life.

9. Overlook their shortcomings

Friends might upset you or anger you because of their characteristics, mannerisms or behavior. If they are a good long-term friend and you value the relationship, overlook their shortcomings.

Regardless of race, color or creed, people are people. We all have our positive and negative qualities.

As difficult as it may be sometimes to overlook an annoying or unpleasant shortcoming, learn to accept it for the sake of your long-term friendship with the person you value.

10. Limit expectations

Many times when friends anger or upset us, it is usually because of unrealistic expectations.

We expect friends to thank us for kind gestures, to call us on our birthdays or remember our important events. In the real world, however, friends make mistakes and don’t always do what you think they should.

The easiest way to ruin a friendship is to allow this kind of attitude to get out of hand. Stop expecting people to behave the way you expect. In fact, reducing expectations or demands of friends will reduce potential disappointment in them.

Good friends are hard to come by so value the friendships you do have and they will last you a lifetime.

How to attract people's attention.

HOW TO ATTRACT PEOPLE'S ATTENTION

1. Start with the unexpected.

Start with a bang, not a whimper.  Smokers like matches that light with the first strike, and listeners like presentations that ignite interest with the first sentence. For instance:
"We stand today at a place of battle, one that 40 years ago saw and felt the worst of war."--President Ronald Reagan
"I stand before you today, the representative of a family in grief, in a country in mourning, before a world in shock."--The Earl Spencer, brother of Lady Diana.
"I wish you could have been there…"--Patricia Fripp, CSP, Former President of the National Speakers Association.
Each of these opening lines makes us lean in, lend an ear, and wonder where the speaker will take us. They jump right into the subject and create suspense, intrigue, curiosity. They capture neck-down attention.

2. Make it about them.

Now that you've gotten listeners' attention with your magnetic opening, make the story about them. Increase your You-to-Me-Ratio. Talk about their goals, theiraspirations, their anxieties. Cicero, a Roman statesman and orator, and one of the greatest speakers in the history of the world, said, "Tickling and soothing anxieties is the test of a speaker's impact and technique." He meant that you can capture attention if you remind an audience of a felt need, a pain point, or a threat to their well-being.
"Ring around the collar," was a 1968 ad in which a housewife protected her husband from loss of social status and career disaster by using Whisk on his shirts.  And many consultants I know use something called FUD to sell their projects: Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt. A smattering of FUD gets our attention. When I feel it, I feel it in my chest.

3. Keep it concrete at the start.

Show a prop. Use language that appeals to the senses. Don't tax the audience right away with abstract reasoning or academic concepts. Better to hide your smarts than to wear them on your sleeve. Storytelling is a powerful way to get into a topic because we are hard-wired to absorb information through storytelling. Tell a good story and you'll get neck-down attention.
I once heard Robert Kennedy, Jr. speak about conservation on a boat on the Hudson River. He began by pointing south. "If you look in that direction," he said, "You will see the channel that for millions of years has been the largest spawning ground for sturgeon in the world."
Of course, when I looked where he was pointing, I saw nothing but gray polluted water, not a sturgeon in sight, but I had the image of millions of large fish teeming so densely on the surface of the river that I could have walked across their backs to New Jersey.
Only then did he dive into the data about the poor, languishing Hudson.

4. Keep it moving.

Not just in terms of pace, but in terms of development.  Make sure that every new bit of information you provide builds on what came before.  We lose interest in movies when nothing is happening, or novels that stop while the author describes a bucolic setting for two pages.  Our brains are saying, "I want action! Drama. Suspense." The same holds true for your listeners. They are time-pressed, content-driven, and results oriented.
Think of the difference between a river and a canal. A canal is plodding while a river is dynamic and constantly changing. To please your listeners' insatiable desire forvariety, make your presentations like rivers, not canals. Make sure there's always something happening, most especially when delivering webinars, where your audience is likely to be highly distracted.

5. Get to the point.

One of the great pleasures the audience has is quickly grasping what you're getting at. They resent you when you rob them of this pleasure.
I once saw an ad for a Seth Godin speech on why marketing technical products was too important to leave to marketing. When I saw the video, the first words out of his mouth were, "Marketing technical products is too important to leave to marketing." It was a no-nonsense speech that moved like a bullet train, straight down the track of that single point. Give them only one point, make it early and often, and they'll carry you out on their shoulders.

6. Arouse emotion.

Humor is inherently persuasive.  It gives the speaker an unfair advantage because it literally changes the chemistry in the room, and in the brain of everyone present. But don't try to tell jokes if you're not a comedian. Simply allow your natural sense of humor to be present in the moment, and when something comes to mind, allow your humor to reveal itself.
Confessing something personal about yourself can also make the audience feel connected with you.  I had a client recently--a senior person in her company--who confessed to her colleagues at a major company meeting that she had been a bar tender, a taxi driver, and short-order cook in order to pay her college tuition.  The audience was amazed and thrilled as she drove home her point that we can all do more than we realize if we have the will to do whatever it takes. One definition of courage, she said, is acting out of character.

7. Keep it interactive.

Social scientists have demonstrated that an interactive audience is more easily persuaded than a passive one. In many circumstances, the give and take between speaker and audience breaks through the reticence and reserve of listeners, encouraging them to engage with the speaker and play a part in the proceedings.
We see this in certain churches using the call and response tradition of worship. We see it in schools and universities, where an effective teacher, by asking questions, can get monosyllabic students to open up and participate.
And of course the world also witnessed the power of audience interaction in the massive rallies of Nazi Germany when Hitler would cry, "Sieg," and the soldiers replied, "Heil," raising their arms in the Nazi salute. I include this negative example because it is a powerful reminder that what makes a speaker a dangerous demagogue is not his technique, but his moral purpose.

8. Write clear headlines.

Write headlines for your slides that express a point of view. The audience will get the big idea and look at the body of the slide for evidence that supports your point.
For instance, "We Can Dominate the Market" is a better headline than, "Market Share." It's better because it implies action, it's brimming with intellectual and emotionalcontent, and it captures the physicality of neck-down attention much more than the inert phrase "Market Share."

9. Keep it short.

Stop talking before they stop listening. The mind cannot absorb what the behind cannot endure.

10. Let there be you.

The presence of a human being alone on a stage of any kind, whether it's the floor of a small meeting room or the elevated platform of a vast ballroom, is profound. It immediately creates neck-down attention. Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "What you are speaks so loudly that [nobody] can hear what you're saying."
Listeners interpret everything a speaker does: they read your face, your inner rhythm, your posture, voice, and stance. In fact, the human mind ascribes moral intention to physical cues having the slightest hint of emotional expression.
The problem is the mind does this in a matter of seconds, and you have to speak longer than that. Plus you may be nervous, not at your scintillating best, so your technical skill at capturing and holding attention could be the difference between success and failure.
Every business presentation will have plenty of moments when the audience will have to work hard and pay attention to grasp the material. I am suggesting that your results, and your reputation, will improve when your audience finds you and your content fascinating.
I urge you to go for the neck-down stuff.
